Terms of use
The rules for using the site and posting to the forum. Short, because there is not much to say.
Using the site
Browsing is open to anyone, free, and needs no account. An account adds saving, the garden planner, the journal and the forum. You are responsible for keeping your credentials to yourself and for what happens under your account.
What you may post
Do not post:
- Anything unlawful, or anything that infringes someone else's rights.
- Abuse, harassment, or attacks on other people using the site.
- Spam, advertising, or link-dropping for someone else's benefit.
- Other people's personal information.
- Foraging or edibility advice you are not confident in. People act on what they read here, and getting this wrong can put someone in hospital.
Content you post stays yours
You keep the rights to everything you post — text or photos. By posting you grant a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to store, display and distribute it as part of the site. Delete a post and that licence ends for it, save for copies already cached or quoted elsewhere, which cannot be recalled.
Post only what is yours to post, or what you are permitted to share.
Moderation
Posts that break these rules can be edited or removed, and accounts that do so repeatedly can be suspended. Anyone can report a post using the report button; reports are reviewed by hand.
Where content is removed under the Digital Services Act, the person who posted it will be told why, and can contest it by replying to the operator. Removal decisions are made by a person, not automatically.
What is not promised
The site is provided as it is. No promise is made that it will be available, that entries are accurate, or that any feature keeps working — this is a personal project, not a service you are paying for. Data may be lost; keep your own copy of anything that matters to you.
The disclaimer matters more than anything on this page. Read it before you eat anything.
Liability
Liability is unlimited for injury to life, body or health, and for damage caused intentionally or by gross negligence. Otherwise liability is limited to breaches of essential contractual obligations and to foreseeable loss typical for this kind of use. Nothing here excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.
Closing your account
You can stop using the site at any time and ask for your account to be deleted; see the privacy policy for what that removes. Accounts may be closed for serious or repeated breaches of these rules.
Governing law
German law applies. If you are a consumer, this does not deprive you of the protection of mandatory rules in the country where you live.
Changes
These terms may change as the site does. The current version is always the one on this page, dated below.
